Credit is due to Raxxanterax for an excellent video on the Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier list. He’s an extremely knowledgeable D4 player, and while I agree with most of his points, I hold a different view on Sorcerers. This guide draws inspiration from his video and echoes many of his takes.

Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier List: Best Diablo 4 Class For End Game

Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier List: Diablo Character & Class Ranked

As of the release of Season of the Malignant, the two best Diablo 4 Classes for the End Game are Druids and Rogues.

This Diablo 4 season 1 tier list heavily weighs the performance of Classes in the end game (levels 70 to 100). By the end game, we refer to the stage in Diablo 4 after conquering the Fallen Temple Capstone Dungeon and reaching World Tier 4 (Torment).

At this point, most players focus on min-maxing their builds, farming top Ancestral items, and finding the required Unique items to perfect their build, which may or may not include a new Unique or Uber Unique item. The endgame culminates with Uber Lilith, the most challenging boss in D4 currently.

Perfecting your build, chasing exact Legendary Aspects, Affixes, and Uniques is the core experience of Diablo. Consequently, this Tier list, like most others online, emphasizes the end game side of D4. Nevertheless, a significant portion of the community never truly experiences that side of the game, which is why the “Casual-Play” part of our Tier list holds significance.

Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier List: Best Diablo 4 Class for Casual-Play

Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier List: Diablo Character & Class Ranked

As of the release of Season of the Malignant, the best Diablo 4 Classes for Casual players are Sorcerers and Rogues.

Before you laugh and dismiss this section, thinking you are not a Casual player, let’s clarify one thing: Most players in Diablo 4 are “casuals.” Being a Casual in Diablo 4 is not a bad thing. The game is extremely gritty and demands hours of play per day to reach level 100 with a fully decked character, which is simply unattainable for many players with day jobs and/or a family.

Casual players can dedicate up to 5 to 10 hours per week to the game. They enjoy the leveling process and aim to reach World Tier 4 and complete the Season Pass as their ultimate goal before a new Season launches.

Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier List: Best Classes Ranked From Worst to Best

Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier List: Diablo Character & Class Ranked

1. Sorcerer

  • Class Diablo 45
  • Tier: C Tier (Weak)

On paper, the Sorcerer is the Class of the Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier List that suffered the most. They now deal less damage and, more importantly, have substantially less survivability. This will be a significant concern for Sorcerers when tackling end-game content. In other words, Sorcerers are now much more squishy, making it difficult to survive harder challenges.

To be fair, Sorcerers are still excellent when leveling. They can deal significant damage to carry them through the leveling process (from levels 1 to 50 roughly), and with proper strategy, they can be fast too.

2. Barbarian

  • Class Diablo 44
  • Tier: C Tier (Weak)

The Barbarian, once the most powerful Class of the Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier List, has now become one of the weakest due to significant nerfs. Much of its previous power came from bugs within the game. Some abilities and effects were unintended and were corrected by Blizzard.

While these fixes were necessary, it does leave the Barbarians in a challenging position. Even though bugs provided substantial power, there were no compensatory improvements for the Class. As a result, Barbarians are currently struggling, both during leveling and in the endgame.

3. Necromancer

Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier List: Diablo Character & Class Ranked
  • Class Diablo 43
  • Tier: B Tier (Average)

The Necromancer is now a middle-of-the-road Class in the Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier List. It did receive notable nerfs, especially to its Bone Spear build, as expected. However, Necromancers still remain surprisingly strong. Leveling should be relatively easy and efficient as the Bone Spear build can still carry you to the endgame. The Necromancer’s biggest weakness remains its lack of mobility.

Blizzard buffed minions, which was a much-requested improvement that could significantly enhance the Necromancer’s survivability. If Minions can effectively tank more damage and deal greater damage, the Necromancer could rise even higher in the meta.

4. Druid

  • Class Diablo 42
  • Tier: A Tier (Strong)

The Druid is arguably the best end game Class in the Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier List. This is due to their insane survivability, which is the best in the game, along with top-tier damage.

The Druid is a polarizing Class. It’s not the best option for casual players, as they’ll need to invest considerable time in farming the right Aspects and Uniques to build the best setups. On the other hand, Druids are not the best during the Leveling phase of the game.

However, if you are willing to invest the effort and time into leveling a Druid and farming for hours to access the best builds, the Druid will reward you handsomely in the end game. In endgame content, Druids are simply the best Class around, offering extraordinary damage when using one of the top builds and unparalleled survivability.

5. Rogue

Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier List: Diablo Character & Class Ranked
  • Class Diablo 41
  • Tier: S Tier (Best)

The Rogue is now the best Diablo 4 Class in the Diablo 4 Season 1 Tier List following the Nerfs from Season 1. They were already strong before, but now they’re top tier.

Rogues have it all. They possess high survivability, excellent mobility, and top-tier DPS, making them formidable in both leveling and endgame. This comprehensive set of abilities makes them the strongest Class right now.

Contrary to Barbs or Sorcerers, Rogues didn’t encounter any significant bugs, which propelled them to the top position in no time.
