Aliens: Dark Descent Bugs & Issues | Looking Past The Worst Parts of Alien

Aliens: Dark Descent bugs, glitches, and issues

It’s been a while since a new launch was this much anticipated by players worldwide. And no game is ever released completely bug-free, so when the Aliens: Dark Descent gameplay trailer was released, I was expecting a few Aliens: Dark Descent bugs, glitches, and issues here and there.

Whether it’s the game’s weapons or combat with alien bosses, there are some inconsistencies I’m seeing. While some of these glitches are not actively interrupting the game, some are just not easy to ignore.

So read on to learn about all the Aliens: Dark Descent bugs, glitches, and issues I have seen in the game so far. Comment to let me know if you’re seeing any other issues with the game, and I’ll mention them as well.

Bugs, Errors & Issues in Aliens: Dark Descent So Far

I had been looking forward to the Aliens: Dark Descent game ever since it was announced to be released on 20th June 2023. But like every other big launch, you need to take Aliens with a grain of salt. There are a few Aliens: Dark Descent bugs, errors, and issues that need to be acknowledged.

The Direction of Aliens: Dark Descent

Aliens: Dark Descent bugs, glitches, and issues

Taking into account Aliens: Dark Descent as a whole from the moment you start playing, the game’s direction seems to have a few rough edges. The one thing that stands out (and not in a good way) is that the first few hours of the game are not well-directed.

Everything seems chaotic as you’re thrown into the game roughly without much explanation. Further, the voice acting (which I don’t love) comes much too late to explain what’s happening.

That said, once the voice actors start their magic, it’s too many conversations happening way too often to have a nice uninterrupted gameplay. This constant pausing by the character conversations is definitely a factor in making the game feel sluggish.

So I wish Aliens: Dark Descent explained things a bit more so we knew where we are supposed to go as we rush into the extraterrestrial nightmare head-on.

The Problem With Aliens: Dark Descent Tutorial

The tutorial is not really one of the Aliens: Dark Descent bugs, but when you start the game is a very important part of any game. And unfortunately, Aliens needs to work on its slow and rough Aliens: Dark Descent tutorial. The tutorial is supposed to be a smooth transition to the new game, but in the case of Aliens, we’re not getting everything we need from the tutorial at the start.

Aliens: Dark Descent Gameplay Glitches & Bugs

Aliens: Dark Descent bugs, glitches, and issues

There are some visual oddities, technical issues, and gameplay glitches that most players have reported facing as well. Let’s be honest; every game has a few annoying display glitches, and Aliens: Dark Descent only JUST released.

That said, it seems like these Aliens: Dark Descent bugs & issues are not interfering with the core gameplay or causing any major interruptions for most people. So let’s give it a break, guys.

Progression & Improvement in Aliens: Dark Descent

The progression might seem unfairly challenging for players who aren’t used to this genre and pace. That said, newbies will get quickly used to the game’s level of difficulty because it is, after all, built on stealth.

But that’s not a gaming issue; the real issue I’m facing with Aliens: Dark Descent is the slow game improvement pace. While the game itself features a steady level of graphics and levels, it feels like the improvement as you progress is slow as a sloth.

Boss Fights in Aliens: Dark Descent

Aliens: Dark Descent bugs, glitches, and issues

There is a lack of enemy variety in Aliens: Dark Descent (as expected), but we can’t be disappointed with the alien bosses. We do have 10 terrifying alien bosses; combat with these creatures (other than Xenos, of course) is a bit disappointing.

The boss fights are one of the biggest Aliens: Dark Descent bugs because they’re buggy, janky, and overall not satisfying. Why? Because when it comes to special alien bosses like the Queen, killing them needs you to fire a lot while rarely getting hit. That just isn’t very realistic.

So yeah, the whole Alien Combat with the special alien bosses feels underwhelming, and I’m let down.

Controls in Aliens: Dark Descent

When it comes to the controls in Aliens: Dark Descent, the ideas that the developers are trying to execute are good, but the actual implementation is, unfortunately, substandard. That makes m count the controls as one of the Aliens: Dark Descent bugs. Besides that, we see an uneven control scheme that makes the game seem clunky and wobbly, especially in combat.

In some instances of controls in combat, it comes in a little late, making controls a bit wobbly. A good example of this is the suppressive fire (which is awesome as an idea) that needs you to have the precise right angle for it to be fired at your opponent. This makes suppressive fire makes complicated than it has to be.

Save Game Feature in Aliens: Dark Descent

Aliens: Dark Descent bugs, glitches, and issues

The Save Game feature of Aliens: Dark Descent is one of the most important parts of any game because who wants to start over when you made good progress the last time?

Unfortunately, Save Game in Aliens: Dark Descent gives no information about where you are in the game, just a time stamp which is pretty much useless. So if you have fifteen saved game sessions, you’re going to have to open and wait for each of them to load to resume the one you want.

Wrapping Up

Although I’m overall pretty impressed with the game (you can read my complete and detailed Aliens: Dark Descent review here), it needs some major improvements. Overall, many gamers think that the game is all over the place with many Aliens: Dark Descent bugs, errors, and issues that they just can’t ignore. My suggestion is to give the game some time to come up with patch updates, and it’s going to be the sickest game ever.

Happy Gaming!
