We’ll wake up to another cold morning on Sunday, but warmer temperatures are on the way.

Expect to wake up to temperatures in the 20s on Sunday morning.

“Not as cold as Saturday morning, but quite chilly compared to where we usually see morning temperatures,” said WRAL meteorologist Zach Maloch.

Temperatures will become milder throughout the day, with highs in the low-to-mid 50s.

“If you like the warmer temperatures, we’ll see that tomorrow,” said Maloch.

Temperatures will then be up and down going into the week.

Sunday will have highs in the low 50s while on Monday, highs will be in the upper 50s.

The normal high for this time of year is 51 degrees.

Maloch said beginning Thursday, we will begin to see some rain.

Scattered showers will begin Thursday afternoon and continue on-and-off throughout the afternoon.

The best chance for rain will be Thursday overnight on New Year’s Eve, but should leave early Friday morning.

“We could start the morning off with a few showers but those quickly move off,” said Maloch.
