278 recently elected District Development Council (DDC) members in Jammu and Kashmir took oath of office and secrecy on Monday. The colors of diversity were seen in the oath-taking ceremonies held at all the district headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir division. Some public representatives took oath in Devvani Sanskrit and many in Hindi, Dogri, Urdu, Kashmiri and English. The slogans of Jai Hind, Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram were echoed along with the oath of the Constitution of the country in Kashmir. Meanwhile, now the District Council President and Vice President will be elected in the next 20 days. A meeting will be called for this, in which the president and vice-president will be elected. Prior to this, a roster of reservation will be issued by the Panchayati Raj Department in relation to the post of District President and Vice President.
