New Hampshire family blocks away from Nashville blast

A New Hampshire man and his family were blocks away from an explosion that injured three people in Nashville, Tennessee Christmas morning, and he said he was even closer to the site of the blast just 12 hours before.>> Download the FREE WMUR app“We felt the whole building shake and we all went to the window and asked, ‘Did you hear that?’” said Joey Orlando of Whitefield in Coos County, whose family was staying at a nearby hotel.He walked over a footbridge near the scene in the moments after the explosion.“There was two cars on fire, smoke coming up the side of the apartment building,” Orlando said.He and his family had eaten at a steakhouse Thursday night next to where the bomb went off Friday morning.Orlando and his family travel for Christmas every year, and this was his first time in Nashville. He said he could have never imagined he would spend this Christmas in a hotel so close to an FBI investigation.“They literally have all the streets blocked off in Downtown,” he said.
