Detectives have launched a murder probe after a man was fatally wounded in Ladywood.
The victim, a 26-year-old man, was found seriously injured in Shyltons Croft at around 4.20am on Thursday, April 22.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
West Midlands Police said they were ‘in the very early stages’ of their investigation and would ‘leave no stone unturned’.
Today, a blue forensics tent could be seen directly outside a property on the small cul-de-sac, close to the city centre.
A number of officers are at the scene which remains sealed off by police cordon.
A statement, released today by the force read: “A 26-year-old man was found with a serious injury in Shyltons Croft, Ladywood, just before 4.20am. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“We’re in the very early stages of our investigation as we seek to establish the circumstances around the man’s death.”
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Mobberley, from West Midlands Police’s homicide team, said: “A young man has tragically lost his life and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this terrible time.
“We’ll leave no stone unturned in our enquiries as we try to establish what went on earlier this morning.
“I’d urge anyone with information which will assist to get in touch as soon as possible.”
