Aston Villa will face their eighth Premier League game in a row without club captain Jack Grealish when they travel to take on reigning champions Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
The midfielder’s last appearance came back in February in the 0-0 draw against Brighton and Hove Albion. It was hoped that Grealish would make a comeback after the international break but it has since been confirmed that he will miss the next couple of games, starting with the clash against Liverpool.
Both Grealish and Villa had a memorable time in their last meeting with Jurgen Klopp’s men, coming out as 7-2 winners in the clash at Anfield.
Dean Smith’s men will be looking to replicate that when they travel to Anfield in less than 24-hours.
While Villa are sweating over Grealish’s condition for the rest of the campaign, Liverpool have also had a number of injury worries so far this season.
The Reds were in Champions League action during midweek, and although Klopp has confirmed that he has no new injury worries, he has said that some players are feeling the effect of the midweek clash. So what sort of strain has that put on their injury-hit squad?
Here is the latest on the players who will and won’t be available against Villa.
