Harvard prof to address health care disparities at URI

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) — A Harvard Medical School professor is giving a lecture at the University of Rhode Island on health care disparities that affect those with disabilities.

Dr. Lisa Iezzoni’s online lecture that’s part of the university’s Honors Colloquium will be held on Oct. 27, according to a URI statement.

Iezzoni has conducted numerous studies for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, National Institutes of Health, the Medicare agency and private foundations focused on improving health care experience and quality for adults with disabilities.

Iezzoni also spends much of her time advocating for people with disabilities.

The lecture is free and open to the public.
