After launching the scheme, the Prime Minister while addressing the people of the state said that today I had the opportunity to hear about the Ayushman scheme from two beneficiaries of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that on hearing the words of satisfaction from those for whom work is done, one feels blessed. Said that I loved listening to you. The government’s commitment is that the benefits of all the schemes reach you.
Said that today’s day is very historical for the state. Today all the people of the state are going to get the benefit of Ayushman. I am very happy to see this step being taken for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. My congratulations to all the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir. I wished that the scheme should be launched on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Atal ji, but it was not possible due to some busyness. For Atal ji, Kashmiriyat Jamhooriyat always gave us directions for humanity.
The people of Jammu and Kashmir have done the DDC elections to strengthen democracy. These elections were held on a fair basis from all the parties. Election from Jammu and Kashmir to be fair When there is a hearing from the people of Jammu and Kashmir, there is a very good feeling. Thank you very much to the state administration for this. Today is a moment of pride for India. Through this, Gandhi’s dream of village society is won. This is the beginning of a new era.
Said that there was a time that we were part of the government of Jammu and Kashmir. But we had left that power happiness. Because our point was to elect panchayats. Left the government and stood with the public on this issue.
The Prime Minister said that on the face of every voter in Jammu and Kashmir, I saw a hope for development, there was a lot of enthusiasm. In the eyes of every voter I saw the belief of a better future, leaving the past behind. These elections in Jammu and Kashmir also showed how strong democracy is in our country. But there is another side to which I want to draw the attention of the country. Despite the Supreme Court’s order in Puducherry, panchayat and municipal elections are not happening.
The Prime Minister said that you will be surprised, the Supreme Court gave this order in 2018. But the government which is there is constantly avoiding the matter. Friends, Local body elections were held in 2006 after decades of waiting in Puducherry. The tenure of those elected in these elections has ended in the year 2011 itself.
During the pandemic, about 18 lakh cylinders were refilled in Jammu and Kashmir. Under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, more than 10 lakh toilets were built in Jammu and Kashmir. But its purpose is not limited to just building toilets, it is also an attempt to improve people’s health.
The Prime Minister said that Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme has been started in Jammu and Kashmir. Under this scheme, up to five lakh rupees will be provided free treatment, which will bring great convenience in the lives of the beneficiaries. Right now about 6 lakh families of the state were getting the benefit of Ayushman Bharat Scheme. After the health plan, all the 21 lakh families will get the same benefit. There will be another benefit of this scheme which needs to be mentioned. That is, the treatment of people through this will not be limited to government and private hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir only. Rather, thousands of hospitals connected under this scheme in the country will also be able to get this facility.
Development is not possible without peace: Shah
Shah said that the way the people of Jammu and Kashmir participated in this election, they will write a picture of the development of Jammu and Kashmir. The promise made by the Prime Minister has been fulfilled. There has been restoration of security and peace. Kashmir is experiencing peace. Development is not possible without peace. Security and peace in Jammu and Kashmir have been restored after a long time. On behalf of the Government of India, I would also like to thank the Lieutenant Governor Administration. I want to assure the people of Jammu and Kashmir that the central and lieutenant administration will fulfill every promise made by the Prime Minister.
Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha thanked the central government for the support extended to Jammu and Kashmir. He said that new air has been brewing since August last year. The picture of the state is changing from back to village. It is said that under your (Prime Minister’s) direction, we managed to land the Ayushman scheme on the ground. Today the golden chapter for Jammu and Kashmir is going to start. Jammu and Kashmir is not the country but the first state in the world where all citizens are going to get such benefits.
Let us know that the population of Jammu and Kashmir is about one crore thirty lakhs. Thirty million people of Jammu and Kashmir were covered under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Apart from this, one crore more people will be covered under the Health Health Insurance Scheme. The beneficiaries of both the schemes will get the same facilities and benefits.
The state government has also targeted to cover government employees of Jammu and Kashmir under the Health Health Insurance Scheme. So far, 16 lakh people have registered under this scheme. A special campaign will be launched in the coming days to cover other citizens.
