On Wednesday, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) has confirmed 797 new coronavirus infections in Finland.

This is the highest number in 24 hours to date.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the cases total in 59,442.

218 in Helsinki, 96 in Vantaa, 66 in Turku, 59 in Espoo and 55 in Rauma.
