A huge cannabis factory worth £500,000 has been found in Dudley.
Police discovered more than 500 plants growing in a ‘sophisticated set-up’ at an unknown location within the borough, this morning (March 11).
Officers seized the crop and now the drugs will be destroyed. However, it’s not clear if any arrests have been made.
Pictures from the scene show hundreds of plants in black pots lined up with bright lights blaring down on them.
In a post about the bust on Twitter, the force said: “Warrant executed this morning at an address in Dudley.
“Over 500 Cannabis plants found in what was a sophisticated setup.
“These will now be destroyed before causing harm to our communities.”
Cannabis farms are dangerous places and pose a serious risk of fire.
This is because the electricity meter has often been bypassed and seriously overloaded electrical circuits run near to water-filled pipes.
All cannabis plants seized by cops are burnt at a ‘waste to energy’ plant to ensure it never makes its way back onto the streets.
