POLICE: One person dead after shooting at hotel
It happened around 3 a.m. New Year’s Day
THANKS BREAKING THIS MORNING. DEADLY NEW YEAR’S DAY SHOOTING AT A HOTEL IN WEST OMAHA. KETV, NEWSWATCH 7S WAVERLE MONROE LIVE THERE 115TH AND MIRACLE HILLS DRIVE. WELL, JOHN, WE KNOW ONE PERSON IS DEAD AND OFFICERS TELLS US THAT PERSON WAS FOUND INSIDE THE DAYS INN AND SWEET. I’M GOING TO STEP OUT REALLY QUICK SO WE CAN SEE WE HAVE SEVERAL POLICE CARS HERE. THE AREA IS A BLOCKED-OFF. IT’S BEEN THIS WAY FOR SEVERAL HOURS AND WE KNOW POLICE WERE CALLED HERE AROUND 3:00 THIS MORNING FOR A PERSON SUFFERING FROM A GUNSHOT WOUND OFFICERS SAY THEY’RE LOOKING INTO A POSSIBLE SECOND PERSON THAT WAS SHOT IN WENT TO THE HOSPITAL OFFICERS ON SCENE ARE STILL WORKING TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED, BUT THEY DO SAY THAT THERE WERE MULTIPLE PEOPLE HERE WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AND THEY’RE TALKING TO THOSE WITNESSES NOW THEY DO NOT HAVE A SUSPECT IN CUSTODY AT THIS TIME. SO THEY’RE ASKING PEOPLE TO CALL CRIME STOPPERS AT 402 444 STOP IF THEY HAVE ANY INFORMATION REPORTING LIVE.

Omaha police are investigating a deadly shooting on the first day of 2021. Officers were called to Days Inn & Suites near 115th Street and Miracle Hills Drive around 3 a.m. Friday for a shooting. Once there, officers found one person dead with apparent gunshot wounds. Officers said there were multiple people present. Investigators are looking into the possibility of a second victim after a shooting victim arrived at an area hospital. Officials are still looking for a suspect.
