The Most Rev. Odore Gendron, who served as bishop of the Diocese of Manchester from 1975 to 1990, has died. He was 99.The diocese confirmed Gendron’s death in a statement Saturday. Gendron had lived at the Mount Carmel Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Manchester for many years and was the oldest living bishop in the United States when he died, the statement said.Gendron, who was born in Manchester, was ordained as a priest in 1947. He served in parishes in Berlin, Lebanon, Nashua, Pittsfield and Manchester before his time as bishop, the statement said.Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
