Motorcyclist, 19, clipped by dump truck in Queen Creek on Germann Road

A 19-year-old motorcyclist was taken to the hospital in critical condition Friday after a dump truck clipped him on a road in Queen Creek, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

The male motorcyclist was wearing a helmet while driving west on Germann Road when the dump truck clipped him around 7:20 a.m., said Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.

Witnesses told officials someone cut off the motorcyclist and he veered into oncoming traffic to avoid being hit when the incident happened, Enriquez said. The motorcyclist has serious injuries and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Speed will be looked at as a factor but alcohol is not considered a factor at this time, according to the sheriff’s office.
