Metro investigating central Las Vegas homicide

A man was slain in a shooting Friday night at an apartment complex near Eastern and Tropicana avenues, according to Metro Police.

Gunshot detection technology used by Metro alerted officers about the shooting about 10:30 p.m. in the 5000 block of Jeffreys Street, Lt. Ray Spencer said. Callers to 911 also reported multiple gunshot blasts.

Officers found the gravely wounded man on a walkway near a staircase, and attempted CPR, Spencer said.

The victim, who was believed to be in his 30s, died at later at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, Spencer said.

No arrest or possible motive have been announced.
