Manchester United fans deliver verdict on win over West Brom

Manchester United fans have been reacting to the Red Devils’ victory over West Brom.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side won 1-0 at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday night, with Bruno Fernandes scoring the winner from the penalty spot.

But Albion were controversially denied a penalty at the other end, after Fernandes brought Conor Gallagher down in the box.

Referee David Coote pointed to the spot, but then reversed his decision after watching a replay of the incident on the advice of the VAR.

Sam Johnstone thought he had denied Fernandes when he saved his spot-kick, but his celebrations were cut short as he had strayed well off his line, with the VAR ordering a retake that Fernandes lashed into the top left-hand corner.

Here’s what Man United fans have been saying on Twitter after the final whistle:

Shivam: We won today’s match but we didn’t deserve to win this game. Poor finishing from Martial, he has to be consistent. #WBA played better than us in attacking position I felt. Good 3 points but that’s not how #MUFC play. Hope so next game brings some spark.

Stuart Graham: Yet another disappointing pragmatic display by #MUFC. Did #Ole need to play 2 defensive midfielders against #WBA?

And Solskjaer Has Won It: Good to finally get a home Premier League win. Hard to see West Brom staying up, looked like a Championship side

Weeds: Did not enjoy one minute of that game. Christ

liamhancock: Fred fouls Gallagher in the build up to the penalty, didn’t even notice during the game! We’ve got away with one bad today!
