Lidl and Co-op among stores recalling food items over safety fears

Shoppers are being warned about a number of food products that have been recalled due to fears over safety.

Lidl and Co-op are among the supermarkets that have been affected by the recalls.

The Food Standards Agency and Chartered Trading Standards Institute have issued warnings for carrot cake, pickles and meat products over concerns they may contain harmful substances such as plastic or glass.

In one case, chicken items have been recalled because Salmonella was found in certain batches.

When a product is recalled, the Food Standards Agency shares details on what you should do if you have bought the item, as well as detailed information on why the product is being pulled from shelves.

It says anyone with any of the below items should ask for a full refund.
