It has been a year since Kimberly Officer Nick O’Rear was killed in the line of duty. O’Rear was shot during a chase on Interstate 65 on February 4, 2020. He died the following morning at the hospital. A section of I-65 between exits 280 and 281 will be renamed in his honor. A memorial was held Friday afternoon at the Kimberly Fire Department.
