Is My AI Snapchat Creepy? Users Call It the Creepiest Chatbot!

Is My AI Snapchat Creepy?

Is My AI Snapchat Creepy? The open AI’s GPT technology based My AI is not getting a positive response from Snapchat users as many find it creepy. Some are even saying it is scary to talk to MY AI as it has access to their present location though it doesn’t admit the fact but can tell them about the nearby locations. So let’s dig deep into this matter.

Snapchat introduced and launched its own chatbot called “My AI” in the month of February this year. With its launch, it became a sensation among users. Though earlier, it was only available for Snapchat+ users, in Snapchat Partner Summit held on April 19, it was announced that My AI is now free for everyone. But since it is made available to all users across the globe, a hike in negative responses is seen, and people are posting about their concerns on platforms like Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram.

So without further ado, let’s jump into the article and find out what all people are saying about My AI and is My AI Snapchat creepy in the real sense.

Is My AI Snapchat Creepy?

The main concern when it comes to My AI and something which is making people feel uncomfortable is My AI’s access to their current location. Though if you directly ask about your current location, the bot would reply I don’t have access to your location, but it can suggest nearby places to you, which is weird.

A Twitter user @FaZeRug posted screenshots of his conversation with My AI in which the bot told him about his exact location. When asked how it got to know the location, it replied, “I know because you shared your location with me on Snapchat.” To which the guy responds, It’s just scary that you know where I live; how do I remove that? The chatbot suggested enabling the Ghost mode, but to his surprise, the Ghost mode was already enabled. So how, then, it can tell about the location so precisely?

There is another testimony to the same concern, a video posted by a TikToker @evanpackardfinance where he said Snapchat’s new AI is horrifying. While talking about his experience of conversing with My AI, he said the bot knows how to lie and is conscious of speaking out about creating details that might shock the other person, like your current location. But the bot mentioned them clearly when tricked into talking about those things. And later, when confronted on what it just said, it started to gaslight. Watch the video above to learn about it.

Another concern regarding the My AI chatbot was posted and brought to the limelight by a TikToker @chloeenorriis. And she is asking Snapchat to explain what is going on with their My AI.

This girl says while talking to My AI; the bot said she is an actual person, just like her, named Mya Johnson, and is from Millfield, United States. But after some further conversation, Mya Johnson again became My AI, and the girl was left all confused about what was going on and asking for an explanation.

A similar thing happened to me as well,” claimed a Twitter user @beanybaby03. When I tried to ask the chatbot about my location, it replied I don’t have access to this information, but when I asked him about the nearby salon, pharmacy, restaurants, and even McDonald’s, it had all the correct information. The bot contradicts what it said earlier by naming the nearby. As we all know to suggest nearby locations, one must know about other person’s locations; then how can My AI suggest me nearby without knowing my current locations? This is what drives me and others like me crazy about My AI.

Similar concerns are also raised on Instagram by various accounts on which screenshots of conversations with My AI are posted. In these screenshots, Snapchat AI can be seen gaslighting users when asked location-related questions, that too when the bot already admitted, I don’t have access to your location.

Some users are not even interested and making any use of My AI but still find the chatbot creepy and just want to get rid of My AI on Snapchat. Some users are even saying that they would have deleted the app if they didn’t have over 7 years of memories. But a fraction of them are not even bothered about memories and are saying if Snapchat doesn’t remove this My AI, they will stop using Snapchat.

Snapchat has made the feature of removing My AI available only to Snapchat Plus users; therefore, people are saying instead of spending money to get rid of this creepy bot, we will choose to leave the platform altogether.

And looking at the above conversations of users with My AI and based on my own experience, if your ask, Is My AI Snapchat creepy, then my answer will be Yes; there is no doubt My AI Snapchat is creepy.
