If the COVID-19 pandemic has you thinking about ways to spend time with your family outdoors, the Forest City has three new options for you.

City hall will be opening three outdoor rinks for public skating this holiday season starting next week, city hall announced Thursday.

The outdoor rinks will be at Victoria Park, Storybook Gardens and the Rotary Rink at the Covent Garden Market.

Several public health guidelines will be in place to help contain the spread of COVID-19 and people are being asked to:

  • Maintain a distance of two meters from people outside their household while at the rinks
  • Sanitize their hands when they arrive and leave the rink
  • Coughing or sneezing into their sleeves
  • Staying home if feeling sick or unwell
  • Wait until there’s enough space for physical distance if the rink is too crowded

Washrooms will be available at each rink but indoor facilities will be closed for changing and skate rentals won’t be offered this year, city hall said.
