Hilltoppers ride 2nd Half momentum to 38-21 win over FIU – WNKY 40 News

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers started slow, but finished strong in their emphatic 38-21 beatdown of Florida International on Saturday.

WKU once again struggled out of the gates and trailed the Panthers 13-3 midway through the second quarter.

However, an 8-play, 65-yard touchdown drive before half helped shift momentum back in the home team’s favor and an explosive second half allowed the Tops to take a commanding lead that they would not relinquish.

With the win, WKU secures a winning record at home on the season (3-2) and will go for their third straight victory on the road against Charlotte next Saturday, November 28th. Kickoff is set for approximately 5:00 p.m. local time.
