Guam Park restrooms stay closed until cleaning masters allowed to work

Park restrooms around the island will remain closed until a purchase order is awarded, Department of Parks and Recreation Director Roque Alcantara said.

The director said he’s waiting for a purchase order from the General Services Agency before the maintenance contractor, Guam Cleaning Masters, can begin to maintain the restrooms.

He said he’s hoping it will happen soon, as the company is ready to work.

“Once I get the purchase order, then we’ll start opening up the restrooms,” he said.

A total of 16 restrooms around the island have been renovated, and 10 of them are complete, Alcantara said.

The other six restrooms have some minor repairs that need to be addressed before they are completed.

Three major restrooms in Tumon are complete, the two at the Gov. Joseph Flores Memorial Park, commonly known as Ypao Park, and at Matapang.
