Ultima makes its return to Final Fantasy XVI in a new form as a powerful antagonist. He is a pale-skinned, humanoid god with four arms and a body mostly covered in purplish crystal.

- Ultima can teleport, create barriers, unleash magic blasts, and is resilient to attacks.
- Ultima can with the help of various magic spells morph into different forms. The most powerful spells of Ultima include Flare, Holy, Meteor, and Ultima.
- Ultima has fled to a new world, Valisthea to escape the Blight. Ultima with his kin were responsible for creating magic, and the world-destroying Blight.

Final Fantasy XVI: What is Mythos?
Mythos in Final Fantasy 16 is basically the vessel Ultima needs to cast its spell Raise. The spell Raise is a powerful one as it would wipe the slate clean and create a new paradise devoid of any emotion or free will.
Once Clive is in the Ifrit state after the events of Phoenix Gate and he learns that he did not die. He comes to know that Ultima gave him the power of Ifrit, calling him Mythos. And now Clive Rosfield has the power to contain and use all of the Eikons’ power -but he can use the power so he can merge with Ultima and destroy humanity.
This is also the reason why Mythos let a rampaging Clive in the form of Ifrit seemingly kill his brother, to break him and turn him into an empty husk only fueled by revenge.
