Police were already stationed outside the PDP office on notice of the rally. As soon as the process of reaching the top leaders started, the police took them into custody. The people present there said that many others including Wahid Para, Suhail Bukhari, Rauf Bhat and Mohit Bhan have been detained.
It is known that earlier on Wednesday, a similar protest was held in Jammu in which the PDP condemned the new ground law. Meanwhile, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti tweeted that the administration has sealed the party office in Srinagar.
He alleged that the activists are being arrested even after protesting peacefully. He said that when a similar demonstration took place in Jammu, the administration allowed it, then why are we being stopped here?
Do you think this is the definition of the general atmosphere of Kashmir, which you put before the world? In another tweet, Mehbooba said that together we will continue to raise our voice. We will not tolerate efforts to change the demographic of Kashmir.
PDP’s @parawahid, Khurshid Alam, Rouf Bhat,@MohsinQayoom_ & @buttkout were arrested by J&K police for protesting against the settler colonial land laws thrust upon people of J&K. We will continue to raise our voice collectively & wont tolerate attempts to change demographics pic.twitter.com/2pHz7QWivt

Mehbooba Mufti said that the PDP people were going to protest against the law passed by the BJP to rob the land of Jammu and Kashmir, arrested them, picked them up from the house at night. When I tried to meet him at the police station, I was stopped. Jammu and Kashmir has been converted into a prison.
