It means those who are homeless will now get a jab before teachers giving face-to-face lessons in the classroom every day.
The decision was made by the Health Secretary in light of the latest advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation which guides the Government on who is most at risk from coronavirus.
The Health Secretary said: “We know there are heightened risks for those who sleep rough and today I have accepted the advice of the independent experts at the JCVI to prioritise those experiencing rough sleeping or homelessness for vaccination alongside priority group 6.
“This will mean we will save more lives, among those most at risk in society.”
