Could Titans play one international game in 2021?

The NFL is currently planning on having international games in 2021 after not doing so in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic — and logic would dictate that the Tennessee Titans have a chance to participate.

During his Super Bowl LV press conference, Commissioner Roger Goodell revealed the news, but didn’t specify if the games would take place in London, Mexico, or both.

However, as Goodell noted, the ability to play games in another country next season will depend upon on how things are going with the pandemic.

“We are planning for International Games in 2021. That is the approach we are going to take,” Goodell said. “We are obviously going to stay in close contact with our partners and make sure we are doing that safely. If at any point we don’t think we can do that safely, we will make that determination.”

While it’s too early to know which teams will be taking part, the Titans have a chance to be one of them based on their future opponents, and if the NFL sticks to a similar script as in years past.

Tennessee has two games against the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team that played one home game in London every year from 2013 to 2019.

The Los Angeles Rams are the only other team on the Titans’ 2021 schedule that will both host Tennessee and has played an international “home” game before.
