Why Does Snapchat Notify Screen Recording and Screenshot?
One thing that you all know is that Snapchat has this “no-strings-attached policy,” as a result of which you find disappearing messages instead of your usual message, which don’t disappear till the time you delete them. And to make this policy a success, they created this notification system that notifies the concerned person if someone tries to preserve their chat, snap, or story by screenshotting it.
Snapchat wants to keep conversations via Snap and chat as organic as possible. Like in real life, you don’t need to worry about things said, whether good or bad. There is no credibility in what is said. And you can’t trust something said to you orally because the uncertainty of denying what is being said is always there. And there is a very handy excuse for this- memory. That is the reason why you have these legalities to make people credible for what is being said by them. Without it, you would never be able to prove something said to you by a particular person.
So just the way in real life, they don’t want to put on the weight of credibility on users as well. They want to keep it light for Snapchatter and make them feel free to talk about anything and everything without thinking twice because they have this assurance that their words are as volatile in nature as a word said orally.
