The supernatural occurrences they witness is not new information for the town’s Hawkins National Laboratory, which is known for its scientific research for the United States Department of Energy, as they are the ones illegally and unethically exploiting the powers.

We see these young children embark on a journey to unravel the truth about this paranormal realm and make really strong bonds and relationships on the way. You get a lot of grim and dark scenes in the show, but with the kids, there is always a little comic relief to cut down the tension. The show stars Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, who has the supernatural forces, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Motarazzo, and Caleb McLaughlin.

It throws us over the edge, as we try to make sense out of this scene. Only until the last half of the season that things start to come together. It is a show full of action, suspense, and lots of super-heroic scenes.

The best part about the show is its constant sibling banter that we witness, giving us lots of relatable moments. It revolves around an industrialist billionaire, who adopts 7 of the 43 infants and raises them in an academy. There, he trains them to save the world from an oncoming apocalypse that he predicted. However, the team of fighters does not come together and are separated in their adulthood. Soon after they reunite on their adopted father’s death and that’s when secrets begin to unravel.

  1. Into The Night – Best Apocalyptic Drama

IMDb: 7.1/10

Seasons: 1

Year: 2020

If you have gobbled up movies like Snakes on a Plane and Non-Stop, then you are surely a lover of on-plane thrillers and sci-fi. Into the Night is a Belgian show that revolves around a red-eye flight, meant to land at its destination during day time. In the show, the apocalypse is not due to a bunch of zombies or man-eating monsters, but it is about the sun coming out and destroying everyone and everything that is exposed to it. The people on board seem to be the only survivors of this apocalypse, and they try to beat the sun by remaining in the air and traveling with low fuel and food shortages.

The survival tactics we see in other thrillers are mostly in the jungle or stuck in the middle of a water body. But here, we get to see something very unusual and see people make their way through the end of the world high above in the sky.

The show stars Pauline Etienne and Laurent Capelluto as the pilot and co-pilot of the aircraft. Along with Stefano Cassetti who plays the role of a NATO officer, who hijacks the flight.

Rom-com, drama, horror, and sitcoms are something very common and to shortlist the best shows to watch from this genre is pretty easy. But when it comes to choosing a sci-fi to watch, things get a little tricky because there are so many themes within this category. From time travel to apocalypses and supernatural humans, Netflix originals have it all you can ask for.
