All Baldur’s Gate 3 Main Endings | 9 Most-Likely BG3 Ending

Baldur’s Gate 3 Evil Endings

There are 9 possible main Baldur’s Gate 3 endings, and I’ve listed each of them along with how to obtain the ending.

1. Destroy the Netherbrain and the Tadpoles

In this main Baldur’s Gate 3 ending, you become the hero that saves the realm and its fate. Here’s how you can get this ending in BG3:

  1. Reach the top of the Netherbrain with your party.
  2. Battle the thralls.
  3. The Netherbrain will give you two choices; pick the first option:
    • Command the brain to destroy the tadpoles and then itself.
    • Dominate the brain. Become the Absolute. Conquer the world.

2. Command the Netherbrain To Destroy Itself

In this ending, the Emperor has to destroy the Netherbrain. This will happen upon trusting The Emperor to carry out the task. Here’s how you can get this ending in BG3:

  1. Reach the top of the Netherbrain with your party.
  2. Battle the thralls.
  3. Netherbrain tries to tempt The Emperor by offering him a choice to join it and be The Absolute.
  4. You will get three options; pick the first option
    • Go ahead. Command the brain to destroy the tadpoles and then itself.
    • Let’s dominate the brain and rule the world together.
    • Betray The Emperor. Dominate the Brain. Conquer the world.

3. Become the Absolute & Conquer the World

This BG3 ending is the opposite of the “Command the Netherbrain To Destroy Itself” ending above. In this ending, you pick the second option, “Let’s dominate the brain and rule the world together.”

3. Become the Absolute & Conquer the World

When that happens, you have to take up the offer given by the Netherbrain to become the Absolute in the next options:

  1. Command the brain to destroy the tadpoles and then itself.
  2. Dominate the brain. Become the Absolute. Conquer the world.

Your party will try and stop you from becoming, but you want to become The Absolute. So after this decision, evil will prevail under your rule.

4. Betray the Emperor & Dominate the Brain

This BG3 ending is also the opposite of the “Command the Netherbrain To Destroy Itself” ending (see point 2.) In this ending, you pick the second option, “Let’s dominate the brain and rule the world together.”

But under this ending, you see the weakness in the Emperor, and when given the following options, choose the second option:

  1. Command the brain to destroy the tadpoles and then itself.
  2. “Betray the Emperor. Dominate the brain. Become the Absolute.”

5. Become The Absolute

This ending is also the opposite of the “Command the Netherbrain To Destroy Itself” ending (see point 2.) In this ending, you pick the second option, “Let’s dominate the brain and rule the world together.”

But under this ending, you see the weakness in the Emperor, and when given the following options, choose the second option from the choices below:

  1. Command the brain to destroy the tadpoles and then itself.
  2. Dominate the brain. Become the Absolute. Conquer the world.

6. The Dark Urge Ending I

In the Dark Urge, you claim the Absolute. After that, the Emperor will come face to face with The Absolute as it tempts him to work with him and become the Absolute itself.

Because you’re a child of Bhaal and remember your destiny, you feel like you need to claim the brain. This is your way to escape Bhaal’s anger.

So in the options, choose: Claim the Absolute in the name of Bhaal. Kill the Emperor.

7. The Dark Urge Ending II

6. The Dark Urge Ending I

In Dark Urge, you’re forced to face one of Bhaal’s minions, Orin. When you defeat the minion, Bhaal appears before you and accepts you as his chosen.

He offers you a gift that you can use to lacerate the realms, and you have to decide whether to accept it.

On accepting the gift, Bhaal names you his Chosen, Slayer, and Violence Incarnate. And that’s not all; he also offers you the power to oversee a horde powerful enough to destroy the world in his name.

9. Mind Flayer Ending I

The Emperor offers you to accept the tadpole and let it transform you when you face him. If you open your mind to the parasite and let it give you power, you will turn into a Mind Flayer.

When that happens, you can work with the Emperor to defeat the Netherbrain together.

You climb the Netherbrain together with The Emperor to battle the spawns of The Absolute. As is its nature, The Absolute will try to tempt you to become The Absolute. When this happens, resist him by commanding it to destroy the tadpoles and then itself.

9. Mind Flayer Ending II

We saw how to become a Mind Flayer above, but there is another way to do so: by freeing the Prince of the Githyanki.

When you free Orpheus, the Prince of the Githyanki, he offers to become Illithid, and you get two choices in response:

  1. You are a true hero.
  2. Keep your soul; your people need you. I will make the sacrifice.

For this ending, choose option two to become Mind Flayer and defeat the Illithids.

Best Baldur’s Gate 3 Ending

The best ending in Baldur’s Gate 3 has to be the Mind Flayer Ending, in which you become a Mind Flayer above by freeing Orpheus, the Prince of the Githyanki.

In this ending, all you need to do is make the sacrifice instead of the Prince.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Good Endings

For a good ending in Baldur’s Gate 3, command the brain to destroy the tadpoles and then itself. Later in the game, you may feel the urge to discover the world rather than control it, even as a mind flayer.

This will also unlock Ceremorphosis.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Evil Endings

Baldur’s Gate 3 has several evil BG3 endings where you become the Absolute and wreak havoc on the realms. The evil Baldur’s Gate 3 endings are:

  1. Become the Absolute & Conquer the World (3)
  2. Betray the Emperor & Dominate the Brain (4)
  3. Become The Absolute (5)
