Armed robbery suspect charged after city post office raid

A man has been charged over an armed raid at a post office in Yardley.

Christopher Conrad, 36, was charged with robbery, possession of a weapon in a public place, concealing criminal property, West Midlands Police said.

Officers said he was also charged with failing to provide a specimen and driving without insurance.

The suspect, of no fixed address, was held after a robbery at a Yardley post office on Monday, January 18.

Police said he was arrested by officers after he was stopped in a car around Lea Village in Birmingham, on Saturday, January 23.

Conrad will be remanded into custody until his appearance before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 25.
