2 adults, 2 children in critical condition after Phoenix crash

Two adults and two children were in critical condition late Saturday after a two-car crash near a busy Phoenix intersection.

Capt. Scott Douglas, a Phoenix Fire Department spokesman, said the crash occurred about 8 p.m. near 43rd and Peoria avenues.

There were seven victims total, Douglas said. Four of them were taken to the hospital in critical condition, including an 8-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy, a 27-year-old woman and a 32-year-old woman.

A fifth victim, a 9-year-old girl, was also taken to the hospital, but was in stable condition.

The other two victims did not require hospitalization, Douglas said.

The investigation of what led to the crash is ongoing.
